




| Process for Spirit Play Training of Trainers Rolling Deadline for Applications Until We Have a Class Objectives: To devise and implement a process to train regional trainers for the Spirit Play method to help with demand for the program in churches and lessen the cost of travel to churches. By 2015 to have at least two groups of people trained to be trainers, no more than ten to twelve people. How we will choose people: up to 8 people in second round (one partial scholarship) geographically diverse to accommodate trainings across the continent. Nita Penfold, D.Min will choose candidates from those who apply. We hope and encourage applicants of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and classes to apply. Criteria used to choose individuals for training (some or all of following) • One-day training in Spirit Play with Nita Penfold or Joy Silver (required) • Experience in Spirit Play classroom (required) • Commitment to Spirit Play method and a quality program • Energetic, creative, resilient and enthusiastic • Initiative (Have you given workshops on the method? Have you extended the method to worship or adults or other settings?) • Geographically diverse (one per district or region) • Able to work independently on assignments and complete • Self-starter, able to follow through on goals • Background check done by church or business Helpful but not required: • Montessori or other educational background (Masters Degree or other, homeschooling, etc. but you do not need formal training, only a love of learning on your own that you can demonstrate) • Experience in running a Spirit Play program (you do not need to be a DRE to apply to be a trainer but you must have access to a program) • Experience in changing stories to scripts or writing original stories • Experience in creating materials and art responses Be aware that trainers will be chosen to make sure that we have a geographical spread throughout the districts. |
